What Is In Your Diabetes Kit?
Hello, I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. Today I wanted to do a blog post on my diabetes kit, so all the items I use when I am doing a set change and spare items I keep inside my blood glucose meter case.
Here is a check list of the items I keep in my container;
1. Needle Cutter
2. Alcohol Wipes
3. Skin Prep
4. Clear Medical Tape
5. Tripple A Batteries
6. One 10 Cent Coin
As you can see here I have a basic plastic container, the container houses everything just nicely. This container is also easy to travel with, I don't travel to different countries but I do go on small trips and I never travel alone.
When I do go on a small trip I always pack x2 cannulas as it is very easy for me to go through cannulas and I pack my insulin. My set change will always happen in the middle of my trip so I make sure I am well prepared.
My Blood Glucose Meter Case
Here is a check list of what I keep in my case
1. Blood Glucose Meter (obviously)
2. Finger Pricker
3. Test Strips
4. Finger Wipes
5. Spare Lancets
6. Spare Test Strips
7. Spare Finger Wipes
I always like to keep spare test strips and finger wipes with my meter, I don't want to be caught out and have nothing on me, especially when I am out and about. It is always important to keep spare lancets with your meter so you can change the lancet regularly.
I hope this post will help another Type 1 Diabetic, the photographs were taken on my iPhone 6S. Please leave me a comment, I would love to hear what you keep in your Diabetes Kit and if there is a topic you would like to me write about just let me know.
I hope you have had a lovely weekend and I will catch you next time
